So do I, and I wholeheartedly agree. Such is the downfall of the completist, really. The same would probably go for The Cramps who probably haven't released a decent album since A Date With Elvis, and even that's pushing things. Pussy Galore never lasted long enough for that to happen, but you only have to see how atrocious the JSBX became to see how it all could've crapped out very quickly. |

When it gets too much I grind them up into powder and sell it to Holland and Barrett's. |

I was quite sad when I got all of SY's Lp's. It's worse when it's a great artist that are harder to find, such as Venetian Snares, I'll miss the slight thrill of actually seeing one of his albums in stock.

I'm a deadhead.further I listen to obscure roots reggae from thge 70s. it is literally impossible to complete my collection, even if I had unlimited funding.

I don't think I have any complete collections. I thought I had everything Television had released (excluding singles) but then I discovered two hard to find live albums.
If having box sets with everything an artist released on them is counted as having a complete collection, then I have two complete sets - The Jam and the Laughing Clowns. Artists whose collection I intend to complete: Sonic Youth (excluding side projects, singles, EP's etc) Ed Kuepper (this'll be difficult since he has released so much stuff) The Verlaines (again, difficult, because their stuff is so hard to find) Einstuerzende Neubauten The Cure (this'll be easy when I get enough money) The Smiths

My Syd Barrett collection is complete (but that isn't saying much).

It is disappointing when you're at a music shop and you'll think "Now I'll check out the band x's albums. Oh wait, I don't need to." It is a bit of an anticlimax.

SY are the only band I let myself buy duplicates & alternate versions of stuff I already have, which means I doiubt I'll ever consider it "complete", but I've got "sensibly complete" Mogwai & Pixies vinyl collections. And Slint I guess, but that one ain't exactly hard..
