Oh, and I'd also like to go back on topic and reccomend Hot Water Music's Fuel for the Hate Game.
It's the only one I have by them so far, but it's really quite fuckin' good. Cap'n Jazz-esque, I'd say. |

theyre into the birthday party. they waned a scremeao meets birthday party thing going on. and considering david yow is also obsessed with the birthday party, its not surprise that either of them sound slightlky like early nick cave. man, i was obsessed with 'hell songs' and 'canada songs' when i heard them, think ill throw em in again soon.

Brian Emo made some great LPs in the 70s, man. Check out Another Green World, for instance.

Yeah, I have all the Hot Water Music albums; burned 'em off a huge fan of theirs... FUEL FOR THE HATE GAME is awesome. Turnstiles or whatever that song is called is great. I dunno if it's.. "emo", but it's certainly good. There are a lot of bands like that, actually, like Honor System, Strikeforce Diablo.. stuff like that.. that came to my attention around the same time and sounded pretty similiar. All good bands though. Hot Water Music's pretty good, actually... I don't really ever get in the mood to listen to them, mainly because I don't like the vocals at all and some of the songs are really sluggish. The bass playing is phenomenal, probably the best part of that band. They started a new band, can't remember the name... but... OH, THE DRAFT. Yeah, they have this new band, like 3 of the members called The Draft. And one of the songs on the Draft's album sounds EXACTLY like "No One Knows" by Queens of the Stone Age. Found that funny. BUT YEAH... Fuel for the Hate Game is really good. |

I really like that song F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. Some of the riffs sound like Mega Man music.

I went to see Dir en grey and Deftones, and Fall of Troy were opening. We waited until they were done to go in. I've still don't know what they sound like, but I think I listened to a few iTunes samples and was glad we didn't see them.

trust me, f.c.p.r.e.m.i.x is great. Go watch the video on youtube. There's actually a really weird part in the middle of the song. Probably the weirdest bit of musical interplay I've ever heard in a somewhat popular mainstream song.
I'd rather watch them than Dir en Grey... and I love "Kisou"! |

dir en grey over fall of troy? what the fuck?
while fall of troy are horrible now, at least their first album is good, like if at the drive-in didn't break up and omar actually bought an yngwie mälmsteen instructional video and got obsessed with don caballero. but dir en grey? ewwww! |

I wanted to have a band called Brian Emo for years, but I think the time has passed now. Shame.
