changing over shouldn't be too hard, should probably be able to do it yrself. most of them are just bolted/screwed through. it's buying the new kevlar that is expensive

how far gone is it? even if they are black and wearing that's fine and normal.. unless there is nothing left of it at all....

i'm not quite sure. my friend had two hoops. he sold me the one that needs me to re-wicked for $50 (which is pretty cheep). i have yet to see it (my other friend is holding onto it right now) but i know that he would not rip me off.

My sig is a picture of Japanese butoh dancers. I honestly would not know. I'm not expert. My gf's younger brother however is studying Japanese culture in college. He might know something about the current state of butoh.

no no, not saying he would rip you off, just that you might not even need to actually replace it yet. $50 is fine as long as all the welds/parts(depending on how it's made) are still okay and the thing has been looked after. They can be close to $300 to buy or have made if you don't know a metal worker. $200 US I guess.
