Ok, I can't be arsed to find the relevent threads, so I'm dumping my rounds 6 & 7 reviews here. I don't have enough time to be thorough, so...
Bytor Peltor's 'zzajing the idiomatic axis' is pretty lovely. Lots of long and drifty songs which don't particularly intrude upon anything. Um... perhaps that sounds disparaging. It's not. The tapes pretty much a mood piece, so far as I can make out. I enjoyed it. Yes I did. And it went down well with my housemates at the weekend. Winner. Echo Sketch's tape reminded me of the sort of tapes I got when I was a fanzine twat. Which is a good thing. The inclusion of Nouvelle Vague was good. They're pretty much an ideal mixtape band. Can't stand to listen to a whole album of theirs, but in the context of a mix they're alright. There seemed to be a fair bit of lo-fi indie things - not in the sense of 'we've listened to Pavement and we're a bit aloof', but in the sense of 'we like Felt and the Pastels and sighing and quiet drums'. Lots that reminded me of late-90s Scottish indie. Which was, surprisingly, actually quite welcome. I'm a bit too young for nostalgia, but if I weren't, I'd be nostalgic with this tape. Oh, and the tape ran out of songs, and a voice announced that Alison Krauss (sp?) was to follow, which I heartily approve of. It had 'you say it best' at the end, which is about 74 bizillion times better than the Ronan Keating version.

it's starting to look bad for my participation in this round....
my "stereo system" won't read cd's anymore and the tapedeck won't pause, so I switched to my boombox. after an entire tape side, I discovered that it was only tracking the left side. my only real option now would be to record from ipod playlist. if I push stop on the tape deck that works, it makes a nasty click. please advise..... |

If you want, you can make a CDR of the tracks you are using, and I can put them on tape for you.
This is the option our friend Everyneurotic has used as well. This is not a problem for me, as I have infinite number of tapes. Well, maybe not infinite. |

You can also send some of your own artwork if you like. Not everyone makes artwork, its up to you.
You can see past artwork here: Mixtape Artwork |

I'm recording it now. It's not what I originally planned, but I hope someone will like it.
I'll put it in the post on Monday. |

Fascinating, mail gets to Ireland quicker than it does Canada or Mexico. Seems odd.
Glad to see it made it safely, Pauly! I think you have my tape, I think. Enjoy. |

Got mine in the mail today! Listening to it right now. The album art has no text, it's crayon on paper entirely. Haha, a really funny a capella blues track with amazing lyrics is on it, along with some good noise songs! Thanks!
EDIT: NIIICEEE, the latest Wu Banga is on it that was released on Ghostface's Fishscale. Good pick. And I believe there's a Yoko Ono song on it that was really good! Correct me if it wasn't yoko, it has the Ono/Patton vocal style
