Im not saying that they are not as developed as meat eaters. Vegetarianism is a somewhat new phenomenom. Most people still do eat meat. I was merely saying that without consuming meat, our species wouldnt have been able to evolve as highly as they are now. I'm talking development over many thousands of years and sustained for hundreds of thousands more. It's not like vegetarians are dumb or anything. Just form an evolutionary aspect, meat was highly important in helping us evolve. That's all. No reason to take offense, Im simply stating a fact.

it's called protein and vitamin B12 (which is a very essential nutrient and only found in animal products).

On in interesting note, it turns out the inuit diet (which is nothing BUT meat) turns out to be the best anti cancer diet in the world.

yeah because protein only exists in meat doesnt it. god just imagine if we hadnt eaten meat we might all still be monkeys. yeah infact how dare anybody not eat meat i mean christ they are only hurting themsleves and there kids will all be retarded wont they? i just dont know how people can live with themsleves. i mean there is is irrefutable proof isnt there?

I believe the idea runs that consumption of meat, initially from scavenging and later from hunting, provided a diet far higher in protein to our very ancient ancestors which in turn facilitated brain development which in turn...

Not that vegetarians are dumb, or that there arn't alternative sources of protein available now, just that meat provided a boost at a critical period. They think.

meat gives whole proteins and enzymes that allow for the breakup and use of various minerals found in meat, trace element minerals wityhout which the brain develops problems. read about it. long term studies of vegetarians have shown that they lack certain enzymes that allow for the brain to keep itself solid and fatty.
