I second the acoustic thing, and the addition of other instruments. I like the idea of an altogether looser feel. I can't actually imagine any of the band members exactly falling over themselves to buy an album like Nurse or Rather Ripped. I think they should do something more reflective of what they're actually into at the moment - which is why the SYR stuff has been so interesting in comparison.

How about if they record in a tank, so the sound can reverebrate back and forth.

yeah, a rural location, Indiana perhaps? Would be nice to hear some acoustic songs, musical minimalism has some awesome potential, the possibilities are endless. |

No, that doesn't sound feasible.

-No vocals. I am sick of hearing Thurston and yes, even Lee sing. Kim is fine I guess, but on Rather Ripped she really sucked. If she has to sing, let the song be more like "Brave Men Run", and less like "What A Waste". I'm not saying that they should do another "Brave Men Run," I just mean a song as good as that one would be a joy.
-Nothing that brings to mind the term "jam band." They need to figure out a way to write lengthy songs without venturing into jam band territory. Is that too much to hope for? -If there has to be a vocal line, please let it be different than the melody line. This is a huge pet peeve of mine, when they are the same. -At last but not least, more METAL [insert high-pitched scream here]. But really, I think if they applied their current skills/knowledge to a genre of music that they normally wouldn't venture into, the result could be astounding. Or it could be a disaster, but you don't know unless you try.
