It is a true union of opposites; it is participation in perishing and non-perishing reality simultaneously; it is the tension of living in-between perishing and non-perishing reality. It living Life as Art using Death as an Adviser.

I dont know anything about rastifarianism except -

Everybody who's into it seems to like Reggae music, especially the white guys which makes me think that maybe they got into the music then wear the religeon like a band t shirt. Ive never met a rastafari, or even heard of one, who subscribes to the tenets but doesnt like reggae, how come? there are christians who dont like christian rock.

I also find it hard to trust white people with dreadlocks, it just seems like a little too much effort to put into your appearance.

I was going to argue in favor of Rastafarianism, but then I read about it on Wikipedia and I think it is pretty stupid. Really stupid. I mean, they seem very spiritual and I'm cool with that. But believing that Haile Selassie is god incarnate when he said he wasn't? In most religions the prophets and such don't deny their status as a prophet, that would just be silly. Also, the philosophy that smoking your brain cells away and giving yourself lung cancer brings you closer to God. They believe in the Nazarite Vow which includes not drinking or cutting your hair, but they can smoke pot? That seems sort of hypocritical to me.

That said, I fucking love Bad Brains.

Bob Marley denounced Rastafari & became a Eastern Orthodox Christian b4 he passed away. "Rastaman ah idot" as said by my Jamaican friends, they belive Haile Salassie is the second coming of the Christ, If he was the second coming 1.) their would be no record of his birth or death 2.) the world as we know it would be over. It seems the opposite to me. More the age of "Know-It-Allism," an age where a new pre-historic archaelogical find will be dismissed by experts as a natural formation without even sufficient investigation (Yonaguni.) It seems to me that scientists aren't doing their job of challenging current dogmas with new ideas.
