in mexico, to get sworn in you have to extent your right arm, instead how you yanks have to put your hand over your right breast. you probably can find a picture of a bunch of 3rd grade kids extending their arms and think "ohh my!! fascist kids!!". and yeah, i should have thrown in "fuck communism and fuck fascism" in there too. but i definitely agree, let's not go there again. |

liberty is definitely the hottest of the three sisters... rumor has it fraternity was born without a warm wet hole, later corrected by surgery... supposedly that was why democracy gave her a feminine name that had a masculine meaning, ... like jamie... or lee. american liberty is plainer and more proper, she would never pose topless for delacroix or spread her warm wet hole for !@#$%!... ...although here she is spanking george bush... i don't think it's kinky though, i think he might have done something wrong...

Well if Democrates were so serious about winning this election they would get smart and vote for Edwards. If you think states like Nebraska or Wyoming or going to vote for Hillary or Obama, you have more faith in the people of this country then I do.

funny you should mention those states. how many electoral votes get those? moreover, nebraska splits their votes by congressional district. anyway, obama can win. would be nice to have a decent person in the white house for a change-- he's far from perfect, but at least he's not some creepy multimillionaire corporate shill. |

Only one candidate, John Edwards, has made a promise to bring the troops home within his first year in office.
Ending the occupation of Iraq (where we are hemorrhaging debt at the rate of two billion a week or so) is paramount to getting this economy under some semblance of manageability. John Edwards is on Late Night with David Letterman tonight. (Diablo Cody is another guest; Josh Ritter is the musical guest). Edwards, Obama, and Clinton all voted for the illegal Iraq invasion and all three have, in effect, recanted that vote. However, if the foreign policy of each is probed, only one of three, again, John Edwards, is actually against the current occupation. Essentially, Obama and Clinton are straddling the fence on the war. The only two candidates that have refused to take political action committee campaign contributions are Edwards and Obama. On the other hand, Hillary has accepted more contributions than any other candidate running, be they Democrat or Republican. Hillary is a crook just like her intelligent and charming husband, Bill. She cannot be trusted. And I'm stating this, relatively, you know, since politicians cannot be trusted in general. As far as I can tell, none of the Republican candidates can be trusted to do a competent job either. Another person that probably, in the end, in these horribly turbulent times, that cannot be trusted is Barack Obama. Take this however you want to, and I agree with gmku's observations, but the last thing we need is another president who, like our current one, has had a documented history with cocaine abuse. |

scuse me, but who in america has never, ever taken drugs? oh yeah. let's vote for them. (obama has had the decency to speak openly of his past. he did inhale. if that honesty is not a plus, what is?) besides-- he was in highschool. |

When the media starts making it known that his middle name as "Hussein," it's all over for Obama anyway. The Republicans are saving that little nugget for a rainy day.

only a bigoted jackass would not vote for someone because of their middle name, but yes, there are plenty of bigoted jackasses with a voter registration card. i thought this was a well-known fact already, but i don't know about readers of the new york post. |

I give Ruth Marcus a C, for average research and average writing.
Ruthie seems to cast a pall over Edwards' plan to increase "green collar jobs." One area being looked at is wind farms and the widespread building of wind-turbines. Another area being looked at is pushing solar power conversion with economic incentives like other countries have encouraged. In the case of our current economic crisis, short-term plans proposed by many other Candidates aren't realistic. But if you don't think that Edwards will try to tax the living fuck out of the super-wealthy, then you don't know a thing about Edwards, someone who is refusing PAC money based on his priniciples. And if you're someone that can't appreciate that, then you're also someone who cares less about real life and death issues than you do about some silly, farcical, media political soap opera. |
