66.7 on that test thing.
After a Dino Jr show I had a constant ringing/tone in my ears that prevented me from hearing normal conversation or sleeping soundly for 3 full days afterward and I get strange popping sensations in my ears from time to time. So, earplugs from here out.

you should invest in a pair of these when you go to shows, everything sounds super clear, just turned down a couple of notches. distortion is still there and what not. i have a pair but i've only worn them once. i get drunk and forget to wear them. but yeah, my ears are all fucked up from standing infront of speakers at raves for 4 years. I used to go to them every weekend (sometimes twice a week). I'll probably need surgery in 10-20 years. Whatever. |

" The solution A couple of years ago, my good friend and fellow guitarist Phil Montoya told me about High Fidelity HEAROS. I picked up a couple of pairs right away and was completely amazed. I was so used to the muffling effect of normal ear plugs that it seemed like the HiFi HEAROS were doing nothing at all, until I pulled them out. Then it sounded just like somebody had cranked up the volume with no EQ change at all. In fact, HEAROS cut the volume level by up to 20 decibels with almost no change in the frequency balance of the music. It's as if you suddenly have the power to tell everyone in the band and everyone in the audience to TURN IT DOWN! Much of my musical inspiration comes from the quality of the tones I'm getting from my rig. Until HiFi HEAROS, I was losing that extra musical boost because the sparkling overtones and high harmonics were completely blocked out by my foam ear plugs. The HEAROS Ear Filters let through all that musical beauty without all that potentially damaging volume. They are easier to use than the foam plugs, they're more comfortable, and they last longer—with care you can get a year or more out of a single pair. " "There is nothing more precious to a musician than his hearing. Even the most outrageous, loudest-playing guitar players I know always protect their ears. Besides being a loud guitar player, I am also a connoisseur of fine earplugs and the only ones that work for me are the HEAROS. Even if you don't like my music, take this precious advice and protect your ears when you're wailing away." — Steve Vai |

My hearing, in my left ear mostly, deafened a bit after, ironically enough a Mission of Burma show. The irony being that Roger Miller of MoB has tinnitus pretty badly.

My hearing's okay I think. I've been through some loud rock shows without plugs, and had ringing in my ears for a couple days, but luckily I don't have tinnitus. for the last couple of years earplugs have been a mandatory precaution for concerts.
As a child I suffered from ear infections constantly so that might've left its mark in my ears. I know some frequency ranges are inaudible for me, and I'm completely deaf to 18khz and above or so. |

i have been wearing earplugs since i was seven. my parents wisely made me when i first started playing drums. i wear them to nearly every show (except) for the ones i mix but i don't do rock shows much. nothing pisses me off more than seeing people take babies and very young children to loud gigs and not give them ear plugs not understanding that their hearing is far more susceptible. edit: my ear plugs were veru expensive though (cough... au$250) and have a flat frequency response unlike foam ones and most of the rubber ones. |

Same here. I almost cried when right after the end of the set, I turned and saw a couple with a, like, 1 year old baby.. at a fu*kin' SEPULTURA gig.
