I rather doubt that, I bet if you really asked around you would find instruments from all over the spectrum, indeed all over the world, its just guitar is the cool thing to try to show off in the hall, where as playing the masenqo I imagine barely even gets you laid in Ethiopia these days, let alone with American girls..

No, it's true, besides all the guitarists, there are the pianists who've been forced to learn since they were young, the people in the school band who play clarinet or something, and the frustrated drummers and bassists who got bored with their instruments and now try to play guitar.
