so in the Swat region the Pakistani govt has stuck to negotiations and the Taliban are now the recognized regional government of the province. The Taliban has agreed to allow girls to attend school up to the fourth grade, a SIGNIFICANT concession when you consider that they have been blowing up dozens of schools in the past months for committing this offence.

It is as I said above, the Taliban will become moderate by the reality of the people, but equally the taliban will become the legitimate local and regional governments of the so-called tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan, because regardless of what the west thinks, many many people there give their popular support to the Taliban, and that seems to be that.

Concessions and negotiation will only solve this problem, bombs and war will only create more problems.
