That's a fucking hell of a set list too! Lucky Chicago folk!

Have to agree: I would never complain about Hey Joni or The Sprawl being on a setlist. Bull in the Heather makes me roll my eyes, and I think they've played it live every single time I've seen them (which is about five times).
The second setlist looks awesome! She Is Not Alone is a teeny bit predictable and I don't think it's an ideal choice for opener, but a set with Silver Rocket, Catholic Block, Walkin Blue, et al. And The Sprawl and Breeze as the encore? Holy shit. Climax of greatness. Hope they do that in Texas.

Bull in the Heather should go. It is a nice song but I never understood why it was considered to be a "hit".

Let's start a petition.
To me, Bull in the Heather has always sounded pretty weak live... it's one of the few songs that sound much better on the album I think. Every time I hear the studio version being played somewhere it always strikes me that it's a much better song than I remembered, probably because I mostly hear it on bootlegs/live shows. Other songs they should get rid of: 100% (sounded good during the Dirty tour, but I never liked it ever since they started playing it again in 2000/2001 or whenever it was) Drunken Butterfly Kool Thing Teenage Riot (I can understand if these latter 3 are fan favourites, but I've seen them too many times). |

I'm diggin' the near completeness of The Eternal being played live !!
That's what I'm looking forward to the most. It does seem that the other songs are from regular 'oldies' stack that they pull from. I'm always hoping for a rare to very rare track (not played the past decade) to come out of the bag to complement The Eternal. Something grindy and trippy like Youth Against Facism, Female Mechanic, Self Obsessed and Sexy, Tunic, Brave Men Run, Stereo Sanctity.........

At the McCarren Pool show in 2008, half the set was Daydream songs and I actually overheard someone say, "Oh come on, they played these songs last year when they did the whole album."

Excellent set!!! Second encore would have blown my mind if I had been there. Also, great choice to leave Sacred Trickster to the end of the actual set. |

Here are a few pictures I took from the 28th show. Sorry that they're not good pics, but that was the last thing on my mind.

Holy fuck? They played Catholic Block. Okay, that's amazing.
About Bull in the Heather - I had always really looked forward to it at shows but I only saw them do it live for first time last year at River to River. I must admit, it's kinda weak live but still. Seeing them play the song that introduced me to Sonic Youth and turned my life was a peak experience.
