You know what? That's not actually a Sonic Youth lyric, though I didn't know it for many years. It's Mike Watt's poetry, which I learned in an interview with him in the '90s.

These lyrics don't strike me as SY's pinnacle of songwriting talent or anything, it's just uncanny stuff the stays with me after listening. So forgive me for failing to submit the greatest lyric.
