My least favorite's NYG&F. Some of you wrote it was an album they really appreciated, still I can't get it (apart from the live versions which I can understand). What am I missing? What should I pay more attention to? really - this ain't no trick to make fools of yourselves.

My only weakness in GOO is that the way it was recorded is just....i dunno...it has a really cheesy late 80s sound to it that just gets on my boobs....The songs themselves are good/great (minus a few).......My favorite has to be Daydream nation, Sister, Bad Moon Rising, Washing machine or EVOL.

Fuck. Goo Rules. So do NYCG+F and a Thousand Leaves. I don't like Dirty and Experimental Jet Set, though.

I'm surprised CIS has 10 votes. I mean, I guess I can see it... i can understand it but I don't recommend it.
(edit-yes, this pun would be better with BMR but whatever... but it as 7)

Of all the Sonic Youth albums i have listened to, my least favorite SY album is Experimental, Jet Set, Trash and No Star. I know that other people will claim that SYR 4: Goodbye 20th Century, NYC Ghost and Flowers and some others are worse, but i have purposely never listened to those albums before simply becuase they were given really bad reviews from people who's opinions I regard very highly. If they say it's shit, then it probably is and there is no sense in me wasting my time with bad material even from a band that I wholly respect and absolutley love.

Since I cant pick EJSTNS or NYCG+F, I'll go with CIS. I am still mezmorized by that album but it doesnt captivate me like the others. (I assume we are not including the SYRs or i'd go with SYR4)

Because, Dirty sounded like SY's attempt to cash in on the popularity of "Alternative rock" and to make all those MTV kids like them. Plus Butch Vig, need I say more?

Washing machine, its just never lived up to the hype. At least when i didnt like EJSTNS i found out it wasnt that popular amongst most fans, but then i dont like washing machine and everyone else eulogises (sic) it. Whats wrong with you people honestly.

I like NYCGF. I've had it for a while but I was bored recently so i popped it in. It grew on me even more. I think it's SY' most beautiful album.

Dirty.
Even though it was the album that got me into Sonic Youth, it doesn't measure up to the others e.g. Confusion is Sex/Kill Your Idols |
