I hope the movie is good, but like kegmama said Courtney owns the rights. So How far will this be actual truth, and how much will be fabricated?

just so we know, this is only a very very early rumour, ill put money on it, that in so many weeks time there will be a comment from Ewan saying "no i havnt been approched for this film bla bla"
But anyway, start thinking of the other people to cast who were involved in kurts life. The rest of NIRVANA, and early band members, even Sonic Youth.

Thurston hasn't aged so they can put him in to play himself.

Would you rather the film have the feel of say Sid and Nancy or The doors?

I have seen parts of those so I can't really comment. But it should have its own voice (The movie). A lot of Biopics, have the same sequence. Childhood, Adult, Famous Adult, Death. It would be cool to leave the death mysterious.

It would be kinda funny if the death was so graphic we watch him blow his brains out aha...hmm yeh probely not.
I do get what you mean by its own voice, but what i kinda mean comparing those 2 films is, one is very colourful and full of vibrant colours and the other is very dull and dirty punky looking. Im also excited to see the world of the 90s recreated. I cant remember the last time a movie was set in the 90s that was made in the last 7 yrs.

Man, if they cast Jared Leto, I'm gonna fuckin picket this movie. Have you heard his band????? They suck!!!!!! It's awful music. Pure filth, pussy emo. Kurt hated that shit!!!! Never ever put an awful musician in a role of a great musician. That would be like having Lenny Kravitz play Hendrix in a new biopic!!!! Blasphemy!!!!!!!
They should just leave Kurt alone and NOT have a movie about him. Kurt repeatedly stated that he did not want to be exploited commercially. But now that he is dead and his sell-out junkie whore of a wife (who most likely was invloved in his death in one way or another) has creative control over everything concerning him!!!! No way. I say the only way for a movie about Kurt to come out if he were directly invloved in it (which, sadly is no longer possible), or someone very close to him was (excluding Courtney). Dave, Krist, Thurston, Kim, any of these people's endoresments are worth something, but not Courtney's. She is simply exploiting his image for monetary gain because her band never made a lot of money and he did. She published his own, private journals for money, she greenlit a crappy best of album that the rest of NIRVANA didnt want. She was not part of Nirvana!!!! Krist and Dave were. They should have more input than her. It's their art too dammit!!! Kurt's worst decision was marrying that skank, and she got him killed in one way or another.

Yeah, Requiem for a Dream was fantastic. But then again, it was just an all around fantastic movie. A lot of people could have replaced Leto in that movie and gotten a better performance. Not to say he wasn't good, but everyone in that movie was good. Also, his role in American Psycho, while important, is short lived and his acting skills aren't exactly on display there. Besides, my gripe isn't about his acting but rather his musical integrity. If he makes such shit music, he shouldn't play Kurt Cobain. Simple as that. He can play Scott Stapp from Creed. I wouldn't give a shit then (besides the obvious fact that a Creed movie would blow big donkey dong). But the point is that a Creed movie would fit Leto's crummy music stylings more than Nirvana, one of the greatest and important bands of the last 20 years.

Mm yeh well i do agree all on the music side of it, but im just looking at his films and movie career.
What about pearl jam, and guns'n'roses, who would 'you' want them to be played by. I have a feeling we will see the Axel and Kurt thing.

But....chances are they won't even bother to mention all the underground bands (ie Tad, Butthole Surfers, Beat Happening) who also helped Nirvana become successful. If it goes Hollywood, chances they will completely ignore them.

^^^I agree. You may get the odd mention, but nothing that could be seen by the general public. It'll probably just focus on his marriage with that trashbag, his suicide, and all the stuff you already know about and that they print in the gossip mags. If any band/musician makes it in it'll be Pearl Jam or Corgan.
