"Beto?" fuck that bitch. My wife is from El Paso. He is a white dude who goes by a latin nickname to get elected in a city where 95% are Mexican-American descendents. He is a red herring.
I try to vote for the most progressive liberal, open-minded person I can find, and he is not it. Neither is Bernie Sanders, BTW.

I get it: Democracy can be very messy and imperfect.
But this? Is America Great Again?

None of them. Every single politician, from a school board member, to a city councilperson, to a mayor to a senator and on up to Preznit, sombunall are either deeply corrupt, or compromised people. You do not have billionaires and corporations donate millions and hundreds of millions of dollars in your name without you being a fucking TOOL for those self same fucks. You do not have millionaires running for a job that pays in one year what they make in interest in a WEEK, unless they were going to use the position to game the system for themselves and their friends. I vote myself (and I am ineligible, having been born in the United State's personal slave colony, Puerto Rico. Born a citizen, but cannot vote for Prexnit if I am standing on the island. I can vote in Houston though.. fucking bullshit all of it. I am not "allowed" to become President.

but you drive a car made by a corporation wear clothes made by corporations are writing in a computer made by a corporation and your place of employment gets millions in corporate donations... i dont know what is it about the word “corporation” that makes people react like that haha. but anyway... why do you bother going to the polls to write your unelectable name? you could stay at home reading a book or something. — eta: is sonic youth a corporation or an LLC? usually bands are LLCs but some go corporate. see: https://futureofmusic.org/blog/2012/...ture-your-band |

Who else is excited for BETO??
Oh, no one? The fact that Bernie's running and these centrists who pay lip service to the left think they have it in the bag, holy shit. What lane do Beto, Warren or Kamala think they occupy? Kamala is out here pretending she smoked weed and was listening to 2pac when she was younger when she was actually locking up young black men for the same thing is something, how dumb does she think black people are? I mean, I'd reincarnate Lenin to get you Yanks into shape but the crystal magik hasn't been working recently. Bernie is the right choice to me this go around, especially against Trump. Trump will eviscerate all the candidates announced so far besides Bernie. It's hard for Trump to tear apart an opponent who's principled and doesn't fall for his bait. Warren ran away and did an ancestry test to prove that she was 0.00000132143% Native or something. GOD, SHE TOOK THE BAIT. What is it about Trump that these people don't understand? Typical vapid political moves don't work with him, he's immune. This year will be horrible. I don't even wanna read the Brexit thread here. |

i am only curious. he doesn’t look serious. i am waiting for a sensible centrist to come to the foreground. yes, it’s hard to excite primary voters with rationality. but no fucking way do i want the gubmint to destroy the economy, pick market favorites, add more cops, and protect incumbents MORE than they already do. command economies inevitably tank. there’s a sensible balance between free enterprise and regulation, and nobody is offering it right now. e.g., fixing obamacare, maybe along swiss lines. i don’t know. i don’t make the laws, much less in california. but was she guilty of prosecutorial misconduct? or was she doing her job? Quote:
i guess you’re too young to have seen first hand the consequences of leninism but the history books are there. it was a fucking disaster. stalinism was not an accident but a logical consequence. lenin is not funny. as for bernie, of course he looks attractive if you can believe his promises. i don’t. they’re fictions. macroeconomics always wins. it’s like gravity. yes this is a good point. i used to love warren, but she has shown to be a smarmy idiot. i’d like to see a trump bernie debate just for shits and giggles. maybe snl can do one if they haven’t yet. Quote:
yeah... we are all going to be affected by brexit, but some people more directly than others. do you think scotland will attemp a second uk splinter and rejoin europe after brexit? what about the possibility of irish reunification? im not up to date on those issues. |

“I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.”

becoming a politician is like becoming a priest. You may have the best intentions, but those that actually run shit are busy raping children, women and men, and that stain soaks into EVERYONE. Until politicians actually change the way they raise funds to buy elections, nothing will change. The billionaires will continue to buy elections to let them change law and policy and regulation as they see fit.

What Bernie is proposing is a basic version of the Scandinavian system. I don't think that goes far enough for the damage that's been caused! The question is that can America accept anything further than that right now considering there is a lot of right-wing rhetoric and neoliberal institutionalism that's been free to fester and now needs to be undone? I would turn down a ride. The problem is that super wealthy only have super wealthy friends.
I read that the difference between me and the top 1% of wealth is far far far less than the difference between the lowest 1%'er, (making around $600,000/year) and the top 1%'ers, who are of the Koch, Rockefeller, Turner, Gates variety. However, they all travel in the same circles which causes them to be punching above their weight in the brag-about-my-riches-and-my-possessions- game that they love so much.
