Why at all? It seems like the ultimate effort to get the ultimate 'looks like you don't make any effort' haircut ever. I don't understand why anyone would go to that much effort with their hair full stop. And there's the implicit association with Rastafarianism which, to be honest, tends to fuck me off. Or, specifically, peoples surface embracing of it because they thought it seemed like a good idea after listening to a couple of Bob Marley records.

i dont much care what other people do with their appearance. if they want to plant a flagpole in their asshole, more power to them.

anyway i seem now to be partially awake, i can get on with work now without fear of fucking up too terribly.

yeah but you have to make a point of growing them rather than just cutting your hair like normal, so does require a kind of effort.

dreadlocks do require more care than most people think. so i am told anyway. i have never had dreadlocks. if they didnt care about their image then why not shave it off?

i had dreads for 4 yrs, and i focused much less attention to them than i do to my hair now. you dont have to worry about waking up with your hair sitting in a stupid way, its just the same and its easy and sometimes a pillow when on a hard surface.

And all that beeswax business that was mentioned? Why worry about waking up with your hair sitting in a stupid way in the first place? I don't. Washing it usually sorts it out and if it doesn't who gives a fuck? If it's short anyway it doesn't really look much different if you tend to it or just get out of bed. That is my attitude to my hair anyway.
