^ This girl knows how to wear clothes, so listen to her. Keep in mind, though, that tit-carriers have it easier when it comes to clothes becuase they have more and better choice than men. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again: no man over the age of 35 should wear jeans. They are definitely a young man's thing.
I challenge anybody to show me a man over that age that looks good in jeans. |

With a slight modification to what you said, I completely agree. |

Bull. Shit. Jeans look good on anybody, any age, as long as they're the right fit and the right style. Case in point: the main character on House (the TV show). The doc always looks fine in his jeans.

I think it's a bullshit challenge. There's no reason anybody at any age can't look good in jeans. They're democratic. Maybe that's a foreign concept in merry old England, though.

I'm not being argumentative.
I just think that men of a certain age start to look a bit ridiculous wearing certain things, in particular jeans. |

Sorry, don't mean to go over the top on this. But it is kind of an intersting point, and one that I'm sure will get me into trouble all my life with those more conservative than I.
We all have our own preferences and ideas about what's "age appropriate." But all my life I've always believed everybody should just wear whatever the hell they want, whatever age or social position or whatever, because clothing can be more than fashion or comfort--it can be a matter of personal expression or identity, and it can simply be one way of having fun. Basically, I sayeth boo and hiss to the idea that there's an age limit on what's acceptable to wear. As for myself, to a large extent, I do make sure my clothes are age appropriate--but as I define that and not as somebody else does. For example, I will never wear a pair of Dockers! Never! Pleated pants? Screw that! Wear whatever you want. I'm 53 and still love my jeans and t-shirts (and thank God am still enough in shape that I think I look fairly good in them). It all depends on what your body and face look like anyway. I will never dress like the old guys on a golf course no matter how old I get. I do keep my closet stocked with many different styles for every occasion. I try to shop wisely for this reason, but man, I tell you, for every day wear, nothing makes me feel as good (comfortable and rocking) as a great-fitting pair of jeans with a simple T-shirt.

My view is definitely contradictary.
On the one hand I'm grateful to be of an age when I'm 'above' caring about fashion. It's way beneath me. But on the other hand, I'll see somebody wearing something and think "what do you look like". |

What am I supposed to wear? Polyester? Khakis? Chinos and cashmere polo shirts? We are talking this shit is so not rock and roll, you know. I say this only in half-jest, but I'm sorry, as somebody who almost literally grew up on 1960s American pop culture and beyond, and rockandroll in particular, I find almost every "adult" alternative to jeans and T-shirts as normal everyday wear completely alien.
I guess I could swear off the things of my youth and just give in to the polyester buttoned down world. But what fun is that? For myself, though I don't spend a lot of money or thought on it, fashion is still a lot of fun, and definitely, when I can afford it, not something I'd ever want to "be above." It's just a hell of a lot of fun.

I did say my view is contradictary.
I say I don't care what I wear, but then why am I so adamant that I wouldn't be seen wearing jeans? I don't lose sleep over the jeans issue mind. gmku, it's clear you have issues with your age. Am I stating the obvious there? I wear slacks with an elasticated waistband. Now that's comfort. |
