One more I added is Crystal Bowersox, who was one of the contestants on America's Got Talent or The Voice or another one of those corporate pop shows. I saw her by accident. She was scheduled to speak at a conference on Type 1 diabetes. Instead, she decided to do a set because, she said, she sings better than she speaks. Believe me, she isn't all that as a singer, either. But at least I didn't have to pay to see her.

Just updated my list to include two great acts. One I saw quite some time ago, The Country Teasers, whose shambolic destruction of New Order's Blue Monday is always worth hearing. And the other is Buddy Guy, whose final tour came to my town a few days ago. It's hard to believe he's in his late 80s. He has more energy than most people half his age.
