I avoided mentioning Sonic Youth so far but i have to say that one of my favourite moments in music ever is when 'Karen Revisited' descends into beautifully textured feedback and the final applause at the end. That's genius genius genius. It perfectly describes the mental state of the character in the song.

The line in the song 'Everybody Hates You When You're Popular' where Tim sings: But everybody loves you when you hate yourself...
It sounds great and it's a great line. From this album: It's tops. A great album cover, too. HAHA.

-when the guitar changes notes during the intro to banshee beat before avey starts singing
-during arcade fire's "wake up" when the entire band sings in unison -the dirty three's song "red", especially during the intense drumming and distorted violin -ira kaplan's guitar solos on "i heard you looking" and "we're an american band" -"heroin" on VU & Nico -when the drone breaks at around the 2 minute mark during unwound's "we invent you" and the guitars kick in -when the bass and drums come in on mission of burma's "secrets" -the bass intro on fugazi's "waiting room"

When Kurt finishes singing Where Did You Sleep Last Night, the screaming at the end is spectacular.

For now my unity is with 2:07 on Xpressway To Yr Skull, Its right when the drums explode, the guitars turn into air-raid sirens and you never wanted to hear anything so much in your life.

Einstürzende Neubauten
when Blixa sings "Ich treibe Inzest mit den Sternen, Ich treibe Inzest mit den Sternen, Life on other planets is difficult" in Selbstportrait mit Kater. There are a lot of other fantastics moments in this song, though. |

great thread
I love the part on crooked rain crooked rain where malkmus sings "I invite you to taste of my chalice, it's a special one, it's made of gold." Sebadoh, on Floood, when Gaffney screams "YEAHHHHHH ALLLRIGHT!" Dinosaur Jr's first 4 notes of THE WAGON
