Update: I went to see bands as indicated in my previous post. They were awful. One of the most depressing musical experiences of my life. Totally unremarkable dadrock for the most part and a room full of drunk, braying twats. And it was depressing in the truest sense of the word...I did actually think I might start crying at one point.

Yes, going to see Ignatz and Arrington De Dionyso on Tuesday so that should wipe the memory of this evening away. It was just...awful.

I see what you mean. Once my girlfriend forced me to go to a shitty pop concert, I don't remember the name of the group . It had been one of the longest evening I spent...

Aww man I hate when they do that! I was supposed to go to taste of chaos but declined. A million times. She wasn't too happy, but I didn't want to spend that kind of time and money. I pity you

it sucks iain!!
yesterday, i went to see watain and three local bands opening, two out of the three were awful, the first was a really shitty death metal band with corpsepaint, the second one was more blackened death metal but had way better songs and the third one was this more than ok dm band without a bass player but whose songs were generic as all fuck. then watain came onstage and destroyed everything. |

Yeah, now I have a good excuse to refuse other bullshit, I remember her this fucking "concert". Hopefully, she found it crapy too, so it works.

Thursday night I spent smoking Cappuchino shisha, drinking rum and beer.
Friday I went out for my friend's birthday to a mexican restaurant. I also bought a padKONTROL but took it back because it required a lot of other purchases I'd need to make to support it, and I don't have that kind of money. Today I worked and hung out with a couple of friends, and bought a shirt and a pink belt, and tomorrow I'm doing nothing

oh for sure! That's what Sundays are for. I usually spend Sundays catching up on things I said I'd do in the past week but never did. It's a good day for it, and guitar

Friday night's show
RAMESES III Beautiful drones with occasional acoustic guitar - every bit as lovely as I hoped it would be. TALIBAM! Two apparently normal men had their bodies taken over by five year olds who then proceeded to play drums and keyboard. It was like watching a particularly interesting car crash. IGNATZ I met Mellysingsdoom just after Talibam! played and was chatting with him. Consequently I missed all but the last fifty-two seconds of Ignatz. Droney/guitar. I'd haved liked to have seen more. Hell, I'd have liked to have seen any of it, I was at the back, Ignatz was kneeling or crouching, all I could see was heads and the wall at the back of the stage. ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO At first I thought I was going to really enjoy him, but my interest wained and I resumed chatting with Mr Singsdoom. ASTRAL SOCIAL CLUB Bloody hell! For half and hour or so it was the late '60s and I was in the UFO Club (This doesn't refer to the music played, just to the general "vibe"). The most freaked out freakout I've ever seen. YELLOW SWANS I wasn't going to stay for Yellow Swans, the general feel I'd got was that I wouldn't like them. But the Swan on the merch desk was a very nice guy, and I decided I'd give them five minutes of my time, rather than just write them off. They ended up getting quite a bit more than five minutes. They played on the floor in the middle of the room, there was a speaker at each corner of the room, it was very noisy, but somehow quite soothing. You know that feeling when you stand under a powerful shower and just enjoy being beaten by hot water, and you come out feeling totally refreshed? That's how I felt after Yellow Swans. Purchases: Drift Yellow Swans CD CDR of MP3s of Astral Social Club Vols 1-7 Vibracathedral Orchestra CDR I listened to classical music in the car on the way home, I needed something that was totally the opposite of what I'd just experiened. It was very nice meeting Mellysingsdoom - a thoroghly nice chap. |

OK. Why? Are you deciding whether or not it's worth going to see him or have you already seen him and you thought he sucked?
I am probably most excited about seeing him I think. |

i've seen him, the mind boggles at how such a distict absense of anything that could be considered to be even approaching talent has allowed him to tour his "music" across continents. |
