There does become a point where religious people make claims that its not worth arguing about, the reason i pointed out that hair is often a disciplined subject in religions is that its a natural part of humanity to want to exert control over what we produce.

Freud wasnt a scientist but the recognition of these impulses in each other across cultural divides is very significant in my eyes, especially when we cant deal with or control what we produce (or in the case of baldness, fail to produce)

Yeah, my hair has been thinning out lately, I also notice it in the shower. It hasn't come out in large clumps or anything yet, but it's rare that I lather and rinse without getting strands on my fingers. Sucks, 'cause I'm not even 19 yet.

just soap up gentile like don't scratch your scalp as that will speed up the process. I start to loose mine in my twenties today I have a minor bald spot.
I still have enough hair that I have to go to the barbers once a month and only
people taller than me can see my spot.

So don't give up I'm 56 and still combing

with rastafari congo dread its sort of the the opposite of control. We let our dread go untrimmed and do little as possible to manipulate or control the growth, strictly speaking, we let nature take its course. I did not make my dreads, I did not twist my dreads, I did not have to keep 'dreading' my dreads, my hair simply grew that way for near 8 years naturally.

You mean you just left your hair and it twisted into dreadlocks the way you described?
See, if your religion is the correct one, it doesnt account for those of us who are Celtic in "origin" and for whom dreadlocks dont really work naturally.

But you just referenced Zen Priests in connection with your buzz cut. Which in itself is preposterous. Hair in spirituality is always about community. There are plenty of vanity dreads, just as there are plenty of vanity crew cuts. Neither impinges upon a person's spiritual beliefs if they happen to have the same haircut as the fashion version of the same. Dreads aren't exclusive to Rastafari, and long hair is a common monastic decision. I think (though my memory's not so good) that there's a Ch'an or Zen Buddhist order which compels dreadlocks. I'm pretty sure it's common in Shinto and some Indian orders as well. Whatever the weather, conflating non-spiritual haircut choices with the edicts of a religious order is poor form, in my book.

Hats, caps. I have a driver's cap and a crew cap as my two go-tos. The driver's is light enough to wear in warm weather too. You gotta protect against the rays if you're going that short.
