Trump is the EPITOME of male white corporate oppression. How could anyone listen to a band like Sonic Youth and be of the Trumpist mindset?

The absence of the band this community came together for has led to a massive drop in quality posters. When I was originally here during the Bush Jr. era, we chewed up right-wingers and spit 'em out. Now the alt-right has infected here as well?!

Trump has exactly 2 talents: 1) making himself look better than he is and 2) leaving others to clean up his mess when things inevitably fall apart. He's only rich because of his inherited wealth from his father, he's only famous because his exploits make for good tabloid fodder, and he's only President because we still have an archaic system that somehow equates empty land with people...

...3 MILLION people's votes were basically flushed down the toilet, simply because they were in the "wrong" state. The only thing he's MAYBE good for is ironic comedy.

Anyone who supports Trump is either a genuine fool or someone so desperate for change and/or brainwashed by right-wing media into thinking the Republican party aren't keeping them under their thumb by paying lip service to "hardworking Christian family values" while robbing them blind to ensure the rich stay firmly in power, getting richer while making the poor even poorer.

I thought you had to have a head on your shoulders or at least a forward-thinking mindset to appreciate SY's music. Guess I was wrong.

Oh man, don't get me started on Bruce Springsteen fans. It's the same with Neil Young fans. You ever see that clip where he was playing with CSN and they did a song called flip flop live which was a song about how useless W. Bush is (oh those glory days). So many fans were storming out of the gig shouting at the cameras how they'll never listen to Neil Young's music ever again. I mean, you guys have followed his career pretty closely, right? Why would him coming out as being against Bush be a surprise?

But yeah, back to the point of not understanding how you can be totally on the opposite end of what sonic youth have always preached and be ok with it. I can't ever imagine wanting to listen to Nazi punk.

Pure, unadulterated ignorance on full display here, folks. While Sonic Youth do have some political songs, they are far from being a political band. But please, GeneticKiss, continue to tell me what I'm allowed to like/dislike. I used to be all for diversity and inclusion, but now it seems group-think is the way to go. You've convinced me!

While members of SY have certainly expressed their personal political views over the years (Lee's interest in the Occupy movement years ago, Kim canvassing for Bernie most recently, etc), Sonic Youth has never been a political band - at least not in comparison to Dead Kennedys, Fugazi, Rage Against the Machine and the like. Can you name 10 overtly political Sonic Youth songs?

I'll give you the first two:

1. Youth Against Fascism
2. Peace Attack

You're ignoring their interviews which they seemed to talk about politics in every one of them. Sure you'll screech that that doesn't make them a political band or something.

To recap, Judge Sullivan appointed a retired Judge John Gleason to prosecute General Flynn because the Department Of Justice wanted to drop the charges. The DOJ was admitting there was no legitimate reason for their initial investigation.

It appears to me that Judge Sullivan got caught up trying to use his Civil Authority in a criminal case......but it can’t be this simple, can it?

So the Writ Of Mandamus is granted by the circuit court (appeals court) and it requires Judge Sullivan to explain his decision of appointing outside council. Also, Judge Sullivan must explain why as Judge of the case, he instructed the retired Judge John Gleason on how he should carry out his actions.

Now that Judge Sullivan has painted himself into a Judicial corner, and the circuit court is seeking answers......Judge Sullivan lawyers up???

A Federal Judge ”shouldn’t” need representation to respond to a Writ Of Mandamus......should he?

I’m guessing the conflicts are numerous! Also, obvious reasons why Judge Sullivan should have recused himself and didn't, therefore overstepping his authority in his handling of this case.

Anyway, in more Trump news. Twitter has finally decided to call him out on his constant lies and included a fact check warning on a post about mail voting. He's not liking this at all and saying it's impeding his free speech (it isn't) and threatening to close down Twitter (he can't).
