my wife and I both loved it. It was really really good. Definitely see it. BTW, the director also wrote Urban Legend 3: Bloody Mary which we saw years ago and were very surprised at the script. It was a really self-aware film that was almost an homage to Candyman. Impressive for a cheapo direct to DVD sequel toss-off. But yeah. See Trick R Treat.

Poultrygeist is okay. I'm a friend with Lloyd and have all his movies but I just got kinda bored with it. Saw it in theaters at a surprise screening last month. Looked beautiful on the big screen. The best song was cut from the movie ("S-U-I-C-D-E")!

After Hours is alright, I watched it at the same time as that Bill Murray movie where he plays the clown who robs the bank and I found them both kinda similiar (you know, wandering around the city at night and constantly getting into these ridiculous situations). After Hours definitely picks up as it goes along, it's definitely not the worst movie ever or whatever Jemina Pearl said about it in that one interview.
Conquest is hilarious, one of the worst Fulci films but one of the most fun. I'd check out New Gladiators if I were you, haha. |

I actually think the finalé with all the mirrors is one of the best things I've ever seen, definitely. Also, the giant talking stone head THE PENIS IS MIGHTER THAN THE GUN or whatever the fuck it said. Pretty awesome. But yeah I probably would've appreciated it more a long time ago. Still pretty mindblowing and it took me to a time when major movie studios would actually spend millions of dollars on this shit. |

I watched:
deadly prey - 6/10 (hilariously bad rambo knockoff) death drug - 8/10 (this one is unbelievable) magic of the universe - 6/10 (this one's really weird.. a kid's movie, with a distinct Jodorowsky vibe... a talking severed head and such) pig chicken suicide - 5/10 (what the fuck's up with the dvd art? Um.. yeah. This one was.. um... yeah) |

I guess you have a point, but can you imagine a film like Zardoz coming out today? Well, then again, I couldn't even imagine Deliverance coming out (in theaters) today, for the most part. Times have changed, obviously.
Re: PIG CHICKEN SUICIDE ... a veritable assault on the senses, mixing violent images of animal butchery, racial strife and surrealism to tell the story of two Koreans living in Japan, who's love is destroyed due to overwhelming racial discrimination. This seriously bizarre and demented film tells the story of a weird guy,who thinks that he's a chicken and works in a slaughterhouse. He eats dirt, walks like a chicken and masturbates whilst seeing Japanese woman touching herself. "Pig Chicken Suicide" is a gross art-house Japanese piece of sleaze that is as dirty as they come.I enjoyed this demented little flick and you should too,if you like surreal and off-beat cinema |

The guy who made pig chicken suicide made a really cool 3 hour movie called NOISEY REQUIEM, and he actually set fire to the roof of a building (without permits of course) and filmed the firefighters putting the fire out.

The dolphin rescue scene was brilliant. It's funny that you mention New Gladiators, I was just watching the trailer for it a few nights ago. |

Yeah, I'm a big Fulci fan. I have been for a long time. I find him really interesting. I enjoy how shoddy and inept some of his films were, when he was CLEARLY a talented director ("Lizard in a Woman's Skin" is extremely well-directed, almost mindblowingly so).
I think some of his horror films are genuinely horrifying, too. I like how all his films have this really weird rhythm to them, in the editing and the dialogue and such. I dunno. I actually think he's quite underrated, usually people that talk about him in any context focus only on Zombie, House by the Cemetary (bleh), and the Beyond. There's actually a lot of amazing stuff in his huge body of work. |

Yeah, Beyond and Gates of Hell are both mindblowing, to me. Also love New York Ripper, Duckling, and Lizard quite a bit.
Of course, Manhattan Baby is probably the worst movie of all time. Fulci had some bullshit. ... But yeah, the atmosphere in the Beyond was incredible. The music! Fuck. Kinda overbearing and ridiculous but so powerful. |
