I've watched a few clips from the (claymation) The Adventures of Mark Twain.
One scene in particular... the "Mysterious Stranger" one... such an eerie and unnerving scene, it's kind of frightening in a way, and it really forces you to think about the stupidity of life.

"Them" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465203/
don't watch it if you live in an isolated house. watch it alone and with headphones, sound is great.

Mystery Men. (yes, for the first time, although I'd seen part of it before)
While not the best movie I've ever seen, it was pretty fun. Also, Tom Waits FTW. |

Dark Fury - The Chronicles of Riddick (Animated)\
from Peter Chung who did Aeon Flux. a lot better than I hoped when I put it on the netflix queue. I like crappy sci-fi violence though. too short though (only 34 minutes). Quote:
I know that most every geek will tell you this, but Firefly was the best thing to ever come out of a TV screen. Serenity needs a part II, III and IV. |

You'll probably kill me for not knowing this but I had no idea that Serenity was from Firefly. Hell, I've never even watched Firefly but all the same it was a brilliant film.

I see you've become a Suzuki convert, good job. Haven't seen "Story of a Prostitue", nor "Holy Moutain" (though I've heard nothing but good things about it), "Oldboy" kicks ass though. Can't say its better then the other two, but its definately worth a viewing.

I want to see The Brave One. It looks a little corny but Jody Foster looks fucking amazing.

I recently re-watched Legends of the Fall on cable, and for the first time, again on cable, Junebug. Both were enjoyable experiences.

New Rose Hotel
Dafoe / Walken / Gibson I'm not sure why I haven't seen it before.... it got a little redundant with flashbacks of previous scenes, but it was pretty true to the short story. sweet gawd asia argento is hot. chick thread here I come... |
