certainly not as good as House Of The Devil. But it had such good ideas. The acting was kind of meh. I'd give it a 3/5. I did really like the horror host thing. I think Ti West will make more good movies.

I don't think it's perfect. But it is a great debut.

Clerks is close to perfection, and I hate Kevin Smith. Clerks 2 is TERRIBLE.

I actually enjoyed Clerks II, though they are certainly 2 different movies. I don't hate Kevin Smith. I like him quite a bit. But I hate Dogma. And I hate Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

I think Dogma is probably in the top 10 worst films ever made...

Yeah, I'm just waiting for Ti to completely blow me away with something soon. I am certain he will. Sooner than later, if he drops the auteur attitude and starts working with writers. House of the Devil was beautiful, but it felt a little thin (just like The Roost). |

House Of The Devil was leaps and bounds better than The Roost though. He figured out atmosphere completely. So I feel like he's improving.

Basterds was alright, Tarantino hasn't ever made a really good film though.

Watched Cronenberg's The Dead Zone for the first time yesterday and was a bit disappointed.
One of his lesser works in my opinion. |
