Pretty funny stuff. I wouldn't bother watching it again though. |

I remember Suicide. It was distributed by Troma wasn't it? It was pretty crazy, in a modern Faces Of Death kind of way. At any rate, most films of this genre tend to be interesting only on paper (or msg boarrds, eh?) but are actually boring for the extent of their running time. Speaking of boring, I just watched Eyes Without A Face. I don't care if it's a classic. I don't care if Critereon says I should think it's important. Shit bored me.

Haha, yeah, I think it's alright at best. Criterion has released some of the best films of all time, but I hate the whole Criterion aesthetic, brand, and their fans with the whole collector mentality.. "oh, if Criterion released it, I gotta have it!" They've released some absolute SHIT (Brand Upon the Brain?! Armageddon?!) while overlooking some beautiful, important, amazing films. Their choices for films are usually really obvious, and they charge at least 3 times as much as any other DVD -- a 43 cent dvd, a $1 case, a $2 booklet, for $50/! Fuck that. I know a guy who ONLY buys Criterion films and won't give any film a chance unless it was put out by Criterion. He's also, overall, just an elitist douchebag idiot with horrible tastes. Very close-minded, though he thinks he's some movie genius, with his $100 3-film-only Criterion box sets. So fucking ridiculous. I mean, that's his business, if he wants to waste his money like that... but still.
That being said, Criterion is releasing Hausu this year, so that's awesome. |

There should be a Criterion for bad films. That shit would be amazing. I mean like imagine if some company started up and released like Howard The Duck as a three-disc set with alternate cuts, hours of promo material, 100-page book, etc. and charged like $50 for it. That shit would be brilliant. Haha.
EDIT: to some degree, I'm describing Anchor Bay. haha. Although, AB has released many of my favorite films...

Yeah I buy tons of old low budget horror movies and a lot of them seem to be distributed by Anchor Bay.

Howl's Moving castle 8/10 very beautiful looking, neat story, very cute. fun times. watchmen, watched it again on the HBO. Seeing it a second time, after my nit-picky comic book fanboy has quieted down, made an even better impression. love how violent it is. it scared peopel out of the theatre when I saw it first, cuz people expected spiderman's cry baby bullshit./ 10/10

I absolutely loved that documentary. I agree that it probably was a bit biased, and it's hard feeling sympathy for a guy who'd neglect his son's toilet hygiene for a hi-score. Still brilliant though. |

Anchor Bay used to rule. They haven't released anything good in a while.
Battle Royale 2 is one of the worst sequels.. worst FILMS.. I've ever seen. King of Kong is an easy 10/10. |

Yeah, the second one didn't even seem like it belongs to the franchise. I always told myself I'll skip that movie because I liked the first one very much but in the end a bud of mine talked me into watching the sequel as well. Meh! |

City of Ember
6/10 I found it rather enjoyable but nothing mindblowing. Something I'd keep around.
