bss is the worst shit ever. its like every hipster in canada got together to make the most boring, indulgent indie rock ever put to man, knowing it would grant them at least an 8.5 in pitchfork.

It will still probably be listened to by many years from now. I mean I don't like the White Stripes but I still have to admit they have put out what will probably become classic albums too.

It's probably their most accessible album and for that reason most likely to become a future classic. |

i think amplifier worship and absolutego will be remembered more as a classic, if they aren't already considered that. Being liked by many people (like Pink) is different than being worshipped by a few people.

I see what you're saying but I think the definition of a classic must include some degree of popularity. That's the difference between being a classic and having a cult following.

To illustrate my point I'd like to assert that the Black album by Metallica is far from their best or most consistent but closest to bing a 'classic album' as it more or less went on to define the heavy metal of the day.

Yeah but their first 5 albums are all considered classic albums.

"frayed ends of sanity" is my favorite metallica song by far.

I don't like any of their crap, but that's not the point. Everyone and their mother knows the Black album.

Something tells me that Pink will gain Houdini status in the next twenty years, being that it's an accessible and good starting point for the band, but nowhere near what they're capable of, and while certainly a popular and notable effort, will not be a classic over albums like Flood or Feedbacker (or most of their other albums.)
