Looks like it's going to be a hung parliament with Tory and Lib Dems. If things go with the economy as people are predicting, the Tories will lose their popularity.

The only problem with that is that you'd have to be careful with ethnic minorities - on the one hand, punching them would definitely dissuade that person from voting Tory; on the other, most Tories would probably quite like it if you gave 'some of that' to 'one of them'.

Anybody else have council elections as well?

My LibDem councillor got re-elected. I would have voted against him for the sole reason that he was responsible for an outdoor gym being installed in my local park.

Does anybody even use those outdoor gyms? I've only ever seen them in rough areas too, where it's more likely yobbish youths will be hanging around.

You're saying on one hand that the government can't predict a recession, then you're saying that they should ultimately be held responsible. No country involved in the recession came out of it very well and under Brown Britain did a lot better than most others. Would I say Darling would've done a better job than Vince Cable? Possibly. Would i say he'd have done a better job than George Osborne? Absolutely.

In relation to the latter point, I'm sorry to use a football analogy here but if Rafa Benitez isn't getting things done, that's reason enough to get rid of him, but not if it means replacing him with Phil Brown. And as far as I'm concerned, that's exactly what the country has voted for.
