yowie have more substance than almost any math rock band i can think of. definitely more than some of the last couple of hell records. the thing with yowie, no matter how crazy and precise they are, they still mess up a bit at times, it's not so technical and computer assisted and overproduced and cold. it sounds really genuine and full of heart. i dunno.

Yowie fucking kick ass. Cryptoology is one of the sickest "math" albums ever.
There's a ton of reall awesome 90s/00s emo and screamo bands that get pretty math-y...

i know it's stupid.
however it's easy to remember and tends to come handy when trying to explain what such or such band sounds like. anyway, it's as stupid as shoegaze or postrock ... |
