Thanks dude, I appreciate the quick answer. I'm going to sign up for it right now. Because all of these bastards have nothing but good things to say and waiting another month to hear it will be torture.

i expect john golden masterings to have ruined some of the dynamics and brought these mellow sounds to murray/nurse/rather ripped
with calbi back, doesn't it seem obvious? |

Massage The History REALLY reminds me of I Love You Golden Blue.

If this album ACTUALLY is similar to A Thousand Leaves then I'm excited, though everyone dissing Rather Ripped sort of pisses me off. How is it similar to ATL though, since that's my #1 favorite?

I don't find it similar to ATL at all. I still maintain that it feels like Sonic Nurse 2.0

I'm trying to figure out if there are any albums in the world that I like better than this, let alone a Sonic Youth album.

I'm digging all of these reviews. Positive stuff, makes me more excited for the album. Anti-Orgasm seems like the big winner so far.
So do any of you streamers like it more than of the other albums in the bands catalog? Excluding RR of course. Granted it's a little early to be asking something like that. But whatever, curiosity. |

I kind of doubt it's better than A Thousand Leaves but that would be cool

I love how a thousand leaves is by consencus the definite SY benchmark in this place, such a hipster's choice.
All those positive reactions are getting me hyped up though, lets hope you people aren't all matador employees executing some grand promotion scheme. |

I'm not going to say it's better than ATL right now, because that is my
favorite album by anyone ever, but I'd put it ahead of RR, Jet Set, NYC, Bad Moon Rising, Murray Street, CIS and EVOL to my mind right now.

Comparing it to anything else after just one or two listens makes no sense to me, but fuck, it's good

It's not really the consensus per se. It's that...SY, for me, breaks down like this: 1. Early/Harsh/Dark=SY EP-EVOL 2. Epic Era=Sister/DDN/Goo 3. Being hounded by Grunge=Dirty/EJSTNS 4. 90s back to form=Washing Machine/1000 Leaves 5. Early 00's finding a new way=NYC/Murray Street 6. Mid 00's losing the way=Sonic Nurse/RR The Eternal would, on first listen, create a #7. I not going to try to say The Eternal touches #s 1 & 2. But I could say it's the best they've done since Dirty barring Murray Street, "The Diamond Sea" and a few songs from EJSTNS.
