Just about anything with Steve Buscemi in it is amazing. He's an awesome actor, and he's a damn fine director. Trees Lounge, Lonesome Jim, and Interview are great little films.

Not to mention Kelly Macdonld, Michael Shannon, Michael K. Williams, Michael Pitt, Michael fuckin Stulhberg aka the guy that was the real best actor of last year in "A Serious Man" as Arnold Rothstein, and Stephen Graham as a young an vicious sociopath Al Capone before he became Al Capone. This is geared to be classic stuff.

Some of that earlier Scorsese stuff is tough to beat. I personally find it inspirational when older people are still creating something, even if I don't happen to dig the new as much as the old. Think Pharoah Sanders...think Ridley Scott....I'll always check out whatever they do, even if my hopes aren't tooooo high. We're talking about peeps that have little else to prove.

I always hope that the Greats have the good sense to know when it's time to quit. (Hello Rolling Stones, Woody Allen, Tom Pynchon.) It's just so painful when they think their latest shit work is great. I don't want something/anything.

People should be able to do what they want.

I like old Stones, but you'd have to pay me to see them now. Still, it's cool that they are still performing if that's what they wish to do....despite how shit it may be.

No, I have to respectfully disagree. It's supposed to be about the ART, Darling. Not longevity, not pastime, not money, .....if you begin to suck, please recognize it, and retire.

Tons of things are supposed to be about other things, but the world doesn't really work like that. Sometimes people just work for the sake of work because they enjoy it, or maybe just need/want the extra coin.
