Oh but I agree about Jack Black, he was the weak link in that flick. Everyone else was top notch, Matthew McConaughey even got me laughing, "I got it! I got the TIVOOO!"

Tropic Thunder is great, and I hate just about the entire cast, aside from Robert Downey Jr. And I still thought it was brilliant.

the only thing i liked about tropic thunder was when i realised at the end who was playing the studio executive.
i watched girl with the dragon tattoo last night, i haven't read the books and i wasn't really expecting to like it but i thought it was fantastic. |

Tropic Thunder is my favorite funny movie of the past 5 years. I ahve watched it 7 times. it is my favorite thing ben stiller has ever done, and I hates me some be stiller! the lines get funnier and funnier. I LOVED jack black's character.
"hey man, you remember way back when I called your mom a cancherous whore?" fucking hilarious. when downey Jr used subtle kiss-ass to make stiller think he was "all cut, you know like in Rambo 2, not rambo 1. You got any tips? I'm trying to come up, you know." to get the map? I have watched that scene at least 40 times. it is not a satire of war movies it is a satire of Hollywood poofs making war movies when they don't know shit about war.

I still don't like it.
This morning, I watched 7/10. A classic of movie entertainment. That scene with the raptors and the kids is just so thrilling !

I'm always going on to my wife about how fascinating the Ernest movies are in a weird pop way. I mean, the one's I've seen are generally rip-offs of other movies. Right? Scared Stupid is Troll. Goes To Jail is f'ing SHOCKER!!! Saves Christmas is um... another reindeer movie I don't remember. Are they all ripoffs? I havent seen them all.

Well, I mean, they all kinda rehash tired themes (going to camp, saving christmas, etc) in one way or another, some more obvious than others...
But yeah I have always been fascinated by them too... they're really cool! |

but still ... Goes To Jail is Shocker. I mean think about that. I mean I love Shocker, but I love most Wes Craven movies way more than normal people. It's unreal to me that someone would have green-lit a project that flopped as financially AND critically as Shocker. SO awesome.

6/10 Sure... the plot is terrible, the direction is average, and the acting is sub par at best, but for some reason I had a good time watching this... might have something to do with the fact that I sort of have a soft spot for both Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. 5/10 This movie comes by this score in the purest way possible, in that its half awful, half awesome. The acting, plot and music are simply terrible. But the action is woo-style awesomeness, and the stunt work is incredible.

wow really? im surprised, when i watched shanghai noon i thought "this is probably the worst piece of shit in existance. in fact im pretty sure if you took a disease ridden turd and doused it in aids and carcinogenic pathogens it would still be a more desirable meal to eat than that movie would be to watch." then i remembered that article about owen wilson cutting himself and was angry that he failed at doing that successfully too. i guess there are just layers there that i must have missed.

If its worth anything I was so high I could barely move when i watched it... and when I'm high I'm pretty warmly receptive to most anything.
I'm one of those smokers who thinks weed makes everything, and I mean everything, better
