Not really, although I like to think I am.
A man is quarter of the way through a tunnel. He hears a train behind him. If he runs straight ahead, he'll get out the other end of the tunnel just in time, and if he runs back to the start he'll get out just in time. The train is travelling at 20 miles per hour. How fast does the man run?

sam- yes. yes i am.
HP- he could be running any speed, it really makes no difference, because the distance from him to the train is unspecified. did you think you could trick me?!

It does make a difference. All of the information is there, as they say. I guarantee you. No, it's not a trick.
Same question: A man is quarter of the way through a tunnel. He hears a train behind him. If he runs straight ahead, he'll get out the other end of the tunnel just in time, and if he runs back to the start he'll get out just in time. The train is travelling at 20 miles per hour. i suppose 20 miles per hour, because that way he maintains his lead on te train. but no one knows how far behind the train is, so i don't 100% understand.
am i right yet?
