I was in my forties I thought Kids was trash. I didn't see it as anything more than an exploitation film. Disgusting

Doom Generation is one of my favorite movies of all time. I honestly can't think of many films even 1% as brilliant, entertaining, and awesome as that movie. Easy 10/10. Gregg Araki is just an amazing director. and yeah it has NOTHING to do with Kids.

I Just like movies that entertain without stupidity. Doom Generation was a movie about stupid people doing stupid things in stupid stupid ways, with absolutely no entertainment value other than to watch idiots do supposedly debaucherous and "taboo" things. and it was BORING

You think Heat and Casino are also boring, though. So, there's really nothing else to say. Anyway, the film has nothing to do with anything you just mentioned, but your take on it is funny.
Anyway, nr, you're missing out if you haven't seen The Doom Generation. Rose McGowan's tits, talking decapitated Asian heads, a truly disturbing strobe light Virgin Mary statue rape scene, and Slowdive! Maybe the most perfect film ever. Anyway scream bloody murder - Please don't watch this movie but watch the trailer which says "THIS IS THE FIRST FILM TO BE DESCRIBED GORE-NOGRAPHY." |

Oh, I FORGOT, Babyland is on the soundtrack to Doom Generation. BABYLAND! So, you've got Slowdive AND Babyland. Two of the best bands EVER!
I really do think the scene with BLUE SKIED AN CLEAR playing while Rose McGowan and that dude who married Kelly Bundy eat Doritos is probably the most beautiful scene in any movie ever. So many great scenes... just a masterpiece. |

Oh hey, nr, I watched I KNOW WHO KILLED ME the other night. There was actually something to that movie, wasn't there? I dunno what. I thought parts of it were ridiculously stupid, but some of it was shockingly effective... I thought the scene with the slicing of the arm and shit was disturbing as hell!... and the director clearly liked Argento...
Dunno how to rate it, will have to watch it again. |

oh yeah the reds & blues were totally ... well if not Argento then Italian horror at any rate. Who directed Stage Fright & Cemetery Man? His direction came to mind when I watched it. Anyway, it really is an awesome film. People were brainwasehd like "oh LL's in and the critics said it was bad, so that's what I think" the limb-scene is really disturbing. The f'ing DRY ICE!!! So gross. (After I saw it I wanted to start a band called Dakota Moss) but yeah, I'm glad you "got it" ... I feel like I've been able to turn on a lot of people to it just by insisting "no no trust me, just watch it." too bad she's still such a wreck. I'm not even keeping up with the drama anymore. I hope Machete turns her career around. I'd be so pumped if she just got out of the drama of TMZ and just became like a Scream Queen figure who just did low budget horror and grindhouse throwbacks. oh. And she looked great with black hair.

It really did remind me of an Americanized giallo; it was stylish and effective. Lohan as a bitchy mean girl (literally, and pun intended) was hard to take seriously at first, and "I know who killed me" as an actual line spoken by a character? Reasons alone to love this movie! Haha.
No, I dunno, just something about it, can't put my finger on it, but it shocked me at how good it was, in a completely different way. Thanks! |

yep. I felt like it was a cross between Giallo and b-movie and tv mystery. Very aquired tastes I suppose.

I just read the wiki. Says it's compared to NBK a lot. I don't know. But plot-wise there's definitely a bit of a Starkweather vibe. No? Sounds insane though.
