When I saw ESG at ATP UK '04, Lee was at the front of the stage snapping some shots. They gave one of the best performances of the festival

Until you brought them up I had no had ESG cross my mind in over a decade. My cousin , Newyorrican through and through, used to breakdance and shit back in the early 80's and he woudl play me the weirdest (at the time) things he bought in NYC

Yeah, I agree. I meant more what aspect of them should they be inspired by. I agree that they're great just a very different band. The more I think about what you're saying though the more I see what you mean. So yes. I agree. I think though that whatever affiliations SY have with the early 80s NY scene it seems increasingly narrow as to what areas of it they look to. Aspects of Ciccone Youth showed signs, as did elements of the Master-Dik EP but these were fleeting and never really picked up later on. I have no evidence to back this up, but while I see Thurston and Kim as being quite open to that stuff, I don't think Lee's that huge a fan. But yes, SY would be an infinitely more interesting band right now if they decided to incorporate some of that NY Disco/Funk/Punk stuff. |

Especially since it 90% likely won't be the title anyway, and then they can laugh at all the people who went on and on about nothing on their board. |

I'd rather they call it "The Killer Muffin Tuna Robot Porno Hour!"
Don't lie to yourself. That's the best fucking title ever, and you fucking know it. |

No better time to see Sonic Youth than on a summer tour. I plan on going to as many shows as possible in the NE.
