The thread is mistitled. Least favorite would mean "the one you like less".
Here's some overhyped songs that I don't like (there are worse songs of course ) : - Rape me, Nirvana : bleeeeeeeh - Layla, Clapton : what's the big deal - Here comes your man, Pixies : never understood why it's so popular, it's got nothing but flat melodies, uninspired guitar and an annoying "chill, dude "-vibe to it. - any song by U2 - any song by Weezer - Hotel California : - Wonderwall, Oasis : I want to die when I hear this song. Why are they allowed to make music ? |

Man you guys are crazy
Imagine by lennon is a beautiful fucking song. it is a song about anarchy and freethought and humanism. it is beautiful. I will survive is also a fucking burner of a song. it lasts because it is amazing and proud and loud and tells shitty men to FUCK OFF I find it hard to choose any one song I hate, because I hate whole outputs by musicians (black eyed peas, whitney houston, boy bands, etc) but I will choose three songs that make me want to rake my ears with wire brushes never to hear again Barracuda - Heart (and anything by Heart) Every Rose has it's thorn - Poison Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi if you want to place me in a murderous rage at yr party, play any of these songs.

Well, it could be argued that the sentiment behind the new Neil Young album "has its heart in the right place" as well; doesn't make it any less of a stinker. |

Oh, OK.
The way you described it before seemed to be more in lyrical terms. Personally though, I have more of a problem with it on a musical level. Piano-rock singer/songwriter action totally makes me throw up in my mouth. I think mostly people have a problem with this song because of what it has come to be associated with; bumper stickers, cartoonishly ridiculous left-wing types quoting it al the time, that sort of thing. You can't deny it has become pretty hackneyed by this time. |

Anti war sentiments alone don't take you anywhere in this world,i'm afraid.Whatever the sentiment of 'Imagine' it is a rather useless one.In that case i prefer people who sing about more trivial things.

I really like some of you people's least favourite songs. Especially BEP's my humps, which is one of my favourite proper pop singles of the last few years (it's no Biology mind).
It's still imagine. I triple-checked. They asked me to stop calling because it's been upgraded from 'Something that everyone knows' to 'Concrete fact, contravention of which is punishable by death'. Interesting that Truncy-wunky mentioned the only Modest Mouse song I enjoy. I would like to add sven-e-englar (or whatever) by Sigur Ros to my personal list of least liked songs (that is, the list which is opinion as opposed to fact). Also, Killing in the Name RATM.

Nirvana's Leadbelly cover makes me want to knock my own teeth out as a distraction from the travesty emanating from the speakers.

Great song. It's fun, without being cloying (cf Shiny old twat) which can only be good. [See also Abba/ Sclub7]
