The Volta haters won't know the difference, and V'ia V'iaquez is timeless.

Yes. Frances is MUCH better than Amputechture. I have no idea what I was trying to say with my previous post.

I don't have much music from the 00's. The ones I would consider "classics" are:
The Strokes - Is This It Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse The Verlaines - Pot Boiler Ed Kuepper - Jean Lee & the Yellow Dog

'classic album' is such a relative thing, one persons classic can be anothers garbage. like above people are talkin about the greatness of 'frances the mute', id rather shit my pants on a blind date than listen to that record again.

I think that Kayo Dot in time will have the same effect as The Velvet Underground did in the 60s. There are already bands spawning up that are strongly influenced by them.
But ehhh I'm probably wrong hahaha. |

Yeah hahaha.
So, in what way are they boring, is it that they have a lot of random noodling in their songs or what? |

I think a better question is how are they exciting? But really it doesn't matter. For any 'classic' album that someone puts out there there's someone there to tear it down.

Well they are exciting for me cause I find them compositionally interesting and highly emotive.
But yeah, second part of that post is right. I mean, I fucking hate Doolittle but millions upon millions of people would disagree with me. |

kayo dot is amazing, but the velvet underground? are you fucking kidding me? they are arguably the most important band of all time. no band could have the effect that they had.
