Just watched West Ham get taken apart by Spurs. We're in a relegation battle now, for sure. Next 3 games are against Chelsea, Spurs and Wolves. Bottom 3 by Christmas. Officially worried.

Don't worry we can potentially be with you. After Norwich today there is Leicester, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal. Shit a brick.

Honestly, I've watched Everton. They have problems but they aren't anywhere near as bad as West Ham right now. The 2 goals they scored at the end paint a very false picture of how today went. I hate myself for saying this but I'm really starting to think it might be time for Pellegrini to go, because if we are in a relegation battle, I've seen nothing from him so far to make me think he's the right man to drag us out of it. Not that I can see anyone waiting in the wings who might be.

So is it down to the Pellegrini or is it the players not performing as they should be? Feel like that's a chicken and the egg question.

I don't doubt that certain players are underperforming but a big part of a manager's job now (arguably the biggest part) is to ensure that players are performing as they should. It shouldn't be that way but that's what football is now. Few managers get sacked now because they're seen as tactically inept but because of perceived issues with their man-management skills. EDIT: I take it back. Everton might almost be as bad as West Ham |

I'm feeling the same supporting West Ham. It's pure masochism at this point. Sack everyone.

Swear that Pellegrini, Silva and Emery walked into a shoe shop only to realise they were meant to walk into a bar. Bunch of fucking useless cunts.

Well I'd like to think so. I know he was the manager moved the Earth to get him so I suspect his ego will stop it happening.

So rumours abound that Silva get the boot and Moyes will replace him until the end of the season. Woo...
Demo, do you think West Ham should have kept him on?

You'll remember the situation west ham was in at that time, the toxic atmosphere there, he had to go even though i don't think he really did anything wrong. I still think he's a decent manager, if not necessarily a long term solution anymore. So a short-term contract that it looks like he might beoffered at Everton makes a fair bit of sense. |

It's the fear of relegation. Owners are terrified of taking risks in those situations so they go for 'safe', 'proven'. |

the mourinho for pochettino substitution blows my mind given mourinho's recent record. but that's just one of the many. so--what is moyes gonna bring to everton that silva doesn't have? although i admit the current position is quite scary vs the early season... same as you with pellegrini. "order" i guess? OOORDEEER... - meanwhile, bielsa has leeds in 2nd... |

It's just that owners are more cautious when they have more to lose.
Moyes is a proven solid manager. He won't take Everton to the next level but he will stop them sliding further and further down, which they were/are in danger of under Silva. |

Pellegrini was meant to help us get to the next level and it just never happened. More than that he doesn't seem like the kind of manager who can really dig in when things start going wrong. So I'd be fine with us giving a short term season long contract to someone proven in that kind of situation. Then, assuming we're safe and the club seems a little more settled, we can think about looking for someone more exciting. I'd take Moyes on the kind of contract Everton seem prepared to offer him, except he was treated so badly by West Ham's owners the 1st time around I doubt he'd ever consider coming back. |

Gotta look at it from the managers point of view too. As much as either I or Demo would want Simeone as manager for our teams it's not going to happen in a million years. All well and good wanting solid proven mangers but if there's nothing the club can offer them besides money why would they go? And Mourinho's trophy record as a manager can't be disputed. He's a brilliant manager.

Lewandowski has scored four goals in 14 minutes against Red Star Belgrade tonight. What was the other stupidly quick hat-trick he scored a couple of seasons back? Was it 3 in 9 minutes or something?
