thanks again.
yes I got one too. (plus replacement chainbucket-chip) the only problem is I need a 18V power adaptor cause it eats batteries like there is no tomorrow. but I love that thing to death. bought it in paris 5 or 6 years ago after comparing it to some vintage maxxons and an ibanez ad-9. this was by faar the most ghostly sounding. I was never brave enough to fuck around with the trim pot? would that be a good idea? and would it be possible to restore it to the "standard" setting (like making a dot where it once was) or is there the possibility of screwing it completely?

well, on the circuit board the trim pot is small and looks like a circle with an "arrow" inside it, a very slight adjustment can go along way and really change things so be aware of that, it can also take the sound away completely. the best thing for you to do is if there is room take a super fine point sharpie and mark what the current setting is, then you can always go back to it if you need to... nice and simple.
btw, if it was me i would keep the muff too, i also have a fuzz factory love it and also find it too intense for my guitar/amp combination but teh array of sounds possible from it is awesome... the muff is my fav. general fuzz/distortion unit and the green sovteks are increasing in desirability, right now because of the way the world economy is its more of a buyers market than a sellers i don't think you'd get as much as you could for it. i remember seeing even the green sovteks going for almost $300 now they've dropped down just like alot of stuff.

really for abut 300? I totally missed that. I still thought these things are common just like when I bought it 10 years ago. but maybe you are right. think about keeping it as you suggested. even like the combo of the muff & the FF. argh, my collectors heart starts to destroy my "clean-up" plan hahaha...again

haha i know what you mean... maybe i was exxagerating but i definitly thought i had seen the green muffs going at least $265 to $275 at one point on ebay, the early version EH models and odd ball early sovteks go for over $300 now... yeah the Green Russians were common 10 years ago, now they are getting scarce and sought over and especially now that EH has stopped producing the black russian sovtek big muff (now the blackies go for more than they were originally...) guitar gear is just ridiculus in my opinion... i've got a boatload of pedals that i don't use and i'm trying to figure out if i sell them or not...

yep.
There's a "youtube demo" with bass, but it's pretty bad (the demo, not the pedal). My present goal is to build a pedals setup that's equally effective (with different results, obviously) both with bass nd guitars, up till now the idea is working pretty great..

nice man, sounds like a good idea. I was just checking out a couple of guitar demos of it on youtube, just went back to look for that bass demo, I can see that working well. You play guitar as well then?
I really want too build up a little pedal setup, never really use them, don't actually own any myself atm. I like the idea of making it compatible with both bass and guitar though. |
