Until hearing them I could totally see why but now that I have, I'm semi-surprised you've not got at least a small soft spot for them. But I'm sure you've already gone through all that a thousand times al;ready with Felix, so fair enough. |

The Hillside Strangler (6/10) I've seen this a few times now and remain completely undecided about it. I've given it a six because there must be something about it to make me keep going back for another try. It's a real downer of a film, I just can't work out whether that's in a good way or a bad way. |

finally saw Inception. I enjoyed it, but not sure it lived up to the hype that had been built up in my mind waiting this long to watch it.

Off-topic question: Where to start with Mamet's writing? It seems like he's written so much stuff across so many different genres. I'm confused. So, what's best? On-topic: I'm watching all of Terrence Malick's films in order. Loved Badlands and Days of Heaven. Haven't gotten around to Thin Red Line yet because it's fucking long and I've been busy playing Portal 2. Can't wait to see Tree of Life.

A Coratian war film entitled "The Living and the Dead", which compares and contrasts the battle for the same piece of land in two seperate wars (1943 & 1993). It is excellent.

Young Frankenstein
7/10 Many people have said Mel Brooks is one of the greatest comedy directors of the 20th century, but I think in truth he's somewhat hit or miss. I mean, when he's good (The History of the World, Part I), he's really good, but when he's bad (The Twelve Chairs), it's nearly unwatchable. I'd put this one somewhere in the middle. The cop with the wooden arm was funny, the "blindman" sequence was good, and I give Peter Boyle a ton of credit for being able to say so much through just facial expressions, but I wouldn't put a huge priority on seeing this one again.
