things like the grunge "look" only become a fashion after it is picked up from the original people, who, for whatever reason, just happened to look that way. That is the "fashion" I do not like. Designer flannels were stupid in every regard and most everyone who bought into that is now wearing skinny ties and black suits and moustaches, and wil soon be tired of that nonsense as well.

Sonic Youth I'll admit don't dress like anyone else. Or rather, they dress like an average joe. However, when a large group dresses the same that is a fashion or fad. Denying this is fucking stupid. Nirvana, etc all dressed the same. Punk bands may wear what they own. Everyone does. How do you wear something you don't own, asshat? Being punk and anti-conformity causes them to show their own conformity. To be blunt, you're fucking stupid. Granted, you do live in Texas. I can excuse a little bit. I'm not 12. I'm 16. Being a faggot I know far more about fashion than you could ever imagine. I know what fashion is. You're some fat slob with a fried brain who doesn't know anything other than shitty music. Continue to fuck off.

There's nothing inherantly wrong with having an imaged band as long as you have the music to back it up. Those who seem to listen to music purely as a fashion accessory do tend to piss me off, but in the end clothes, image, fashion etc are supposed to be about fun, not some big serious statement of your ethics. |

I'd love that to be a double post because it's too good and the best image-conscious/unconscious post i've read in this thread.

you know exactly what I mean haydensache.
Most bands we all love wear the shit out of their closets, shit they would wear every single day all day. the "fashion" bands wear stage-specific fashions. BIG difference.

Then again that never really took off as a fashion as such. Shame.

Didn't The Velvets have to dress all in black because of the amount of film projected on them while playing live as well as protecting themselves with sunglasses?Hello?Hello? Can you hear me?

if they wanted the films to be projected well, they would have been wearing white.
