I really liked that. It wasn't what I expected at all but really good in its own right. David Hoyle was excellent. |

Just finished re-watching Magnolia after a guy at work who I recommended it to said it was a terrible film and how he couldn't last longer than an hour.
Man that film is so overwhelming. An absolutely perfect film.

STARBUCK
nice little comedy. had fun watching it. the kind of light sunday matinee fare for when you don't want an old world war 2 movie or a spaghetti western. the funnest part throughout was hearing that crazy québécois accent. |

Honestly, I'm not even listing them all. I just watched some 80s made for TV one that I guessed nobody would be remotely interested in. It's partly just cos I like them but I'm also trying to write something about them, so it's sort of research too.

Came on TV tonight, watched it after work. I forgot just how great this film is it had been a while, I just can't understand why this eccentric, sarcastic, hard-ass Jack Nicholson waited ten years to make a reappearance in the 1980s

it's called "screenwriting" and "acting" and "directing". you know, a writer writes a character, an actor plays that character for the director who demands a certain performance. an incomprehensible notion, i know, that a movie character may be different from an actor, but it's how it's done in them holliwoods. also, cuckoo's nest is from 1975. |

no trolling. Those movies bore me terribly. It is a similar boredom to what I feel watching 80% of Saturday Night Fever.

No i can kind of get your point about finding it boring. Same with Mean Streets and Saturday Night Fever. There's a definite quite flat pace and tone to them that I can see some people just not getting into, as much as other people seem to love it. I was mainly talking about Suchfriends point about the bandage on Jack Nicholson's nose.
