Most counties in Peterson's district swung hard toward Trump this year, by margins of 20, 30, 40 percentage points or more. But Peterson himself still earned 52.5 percent of the vote, enough to head to Congress for a 14th term. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...d_content_1_na |

Native American reservations cover just 2 percent of the United States, but they may contain about a fifth of the nation’s oil and gas, along with vast coal reserves. Now, a group of advisors to President-elect Donald Trump on Native American issues wants to free those resources from what they call a suffocating federal bureaucracy that holds title to 56 million acres of tribal lands, two chairmen of the coalition told Reuters in exclusive interviews. The group proposes to put those lands into private ownership - a politically explosive idea that could upend more than century of policy designed to preserve Indian tribes on U.S.-owned reservations, which are governed by tribal leaders as sovereign nations its like every day is aprils fools day now |

Confession: I go to Twitter and only read posts with #notmypresident. Now and then, someone who doesn't belong will use the hashtag to be nasty, but overall it's a delightful way to spend time inside a comfortable bubble.

I know what I'm doing.
In my defense, #notmypresident tends to be more reality-based than #MAGA. Cooler celebrities, too. If anyone feels the need for an oasis, this is my recommendation. But yeah. Just sip the kool-aid. Don't guzzle. |

A couple have made similar vows, or at least that's what I've read. Either way, even if the recounts in Michigan (now underway) and Wisconsin changed the outcome of the election, HRC would be more hated than ever. It still hurts like a sonofabitch every day, but as Tom Petty once said: "Time to move on, Time to get goin' What lies ahead I have no way of knowin' But under my feet babe, grass is growin' Yeah it's time to move on, time to get goin'" --- That said, I absolutely follow "notmypresident on twitter. I'm just trying to move on from the personal crisis the election brought about for me. I'm gonna watch this fucker like a hawk, and do everything in my power to convince people that they made a mistake. |

...who will most likely sign an Ohio bill which bans abortion after a heartbeat is detected. No exceptions. A representative said Trump's victory and chance of a new Supreme Court inspired them. (Although, even with a new staunch conservative, won't the Supreme Court makeup be the same as it was a year ago?) |

For the moment, yeah, but not necessarily in January after Trump takes office. From what I can gather the most immediate casualty of Trump is Merrick Garland, Scalia's intended replacement under Obama. Garland's appointment has been deadlocked in the senate, and a lot of people want Scalia's replacement to be reflective of the new administration rather than the old. Also Garland is a DC'er, and having him around wouldn't be in compliance with "draining the swamp." I'm pretty sure the writing's on the wall on that issue. Doubtful the senate will speed things up for Obama's pick. Why would they? Then there's the issue of the age of the sitting justices. They're in charge of their own retirement, but two key liberal voters and one Republican who has pissed off the GOP are getting up there. |

In other news... the Michigan GOP is just desperate to stop the state's already underway recount for some reason, and ... looks like they've succeeded.

actually this guy is likely in charge of the SCOTUS
obviously a few should have retired quite some time ago. Ruth Ginsberg is really showing a failing mentally lately, and her physical health is pretty poor. We will likely see a BUNCH of replacements under Trump, and probably not Clarence, Samuel or Roberts....;( |

Do you want only New Mexico to secede, or do you have a grander plan?

Listen I'm not telling this as a joke. Trump is good friends with Vince McMahon of the WWE. The strongest ego is usually the champ. Trump wants you to fight him it completes him and writes a better story. You have four options: fan, jobroni, heel, baby face. For those who don't know 'Jobroni or Jobber' is wrestlinglish a shitty no name wrestler that The Rock brought back into the lingo from his father and grandfather's time.
I am strongly warning you to watch WWE and study the ego storylines. Trump had the Battle of The Billionaires with McMahon and won a number of years ago. I can't watch wrestling due to lack of TV or data but I am getting regular recaps from a good friend. Trump's whole angle is 'Shtick'. You get wise to it and fight like a man you'll love it and be the champ. Cut the Po Co bullshit, that's what he's banking on. |
