I know how you feel. Assuming that she's not just 'putting it on', it must be incredibly frustrating for her to always feel that way. I feel that if you like her then there's probably much to be said in her favour and she is worth the effort.

It woud probably be best if someone explained the situation fully to her, but that requires the kind of social skills that don;t always come easily, to me at least.

Since the Live Earth concert the other day, everything has changed. In these 2 days since the concert the environment has apparently regenerated up to 68% of the damage done by humans because of the sheer quality of the music played by David Gray and Black Eyed Peas.
