Oh my god, this man had a prolific discography. I'm just listening to the 2006 release "speaker of turkish" and it made me curious, what I should explore next by him.

I would like to know too. I have one item, it's lovely, but far too daunting a discography for my liking.
I think he's been dead since the late 90's though. He's the Welsh 2Pac.

i'm intrigued by him, been meaning to check him out; i don't agree with his ideologies at all but would be interested in listening to his music.

I think the only one I've heard is Vote Hezbollah and it was pretty good.
He died of some blood disease and I think he was from West Wales and was called Bryn or something like that. That's about all I know. |

I had some very early records of his that were nothing special, but I liked what he did in later years.
Got kinda samey sometimes, but good. I think all I have left is a 45 now. Prolific guy! |

atsonicpark - well, hate to say it, but once you've heard a couple of Muslimgauze releases, there's no real need to go any further - quality control not being one of Mr. Jones' strong suits.....I'd go for "Hamas Arc", myself...

I found one of his CDs in the Oxfam i used to work at a few months ago, and rightly assuming noone else would even know who the hell it was i bought it for a quid. Zulm, its called
I think its nice enough but when id read about him before, and the fact the album was on the Extreme label i was expecting something heavier. But ive probably saved that particular bit of plastic from the bins, and all for a good cause too.

I really love this one http://www.discogs.com/Muslimgauze-Sufiq/release/122765
It's one of his more percussive/tribal ones, as opposed to the more ambient stuff he does. But I agree, just go for whatever release you can find, there's usually at least one gem per release.

I was listening to Zulm yesterday, and ive definitely grown to enjoy it alot more than i did initially, especially when reading. A little youtube search also turned up the "Iran" album.

I free associative read that as Muslim Shoe Gaze so now I'm disappointed. I'm in LA, just about every other persian here is a Muslim 2pac
