Leon Thomas! Good one. I think his best performance is on this song with Pharoah Sanders: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AAELC5Kzno

I hate Mike Patton.
I think Beefheart is usually considered "weird", as is the guy from U.S. Maple... but, really ,just brilliant... |

I used to have a copy of Minton's solo voice LP "A Doughnut In Both Hands." That is one of those records I really wish I hadn't sold.

These came into my mind:
Geddy Lee Robert Smith Christian Vander (from Magma) Renate Knaup and Chris Karrer (from Amon Duul II) Robert Calvert (from Hawkwind) Jello Biafra |

I immediately think of Gordon Sharp of Cindytalk, David Sylvian, Gibby Haynes, Baby Gramps, Jónsi Birgisson of Sigur Ros, The Residents, David Thomas, Lee Scratch Perry
but of course it's all incredibly subjective. John Lydon was definitely incredibly weird until he was imitated by untold thousands of vocalists. |
