i might be wrong, but the trux seem to be one of the more well known avant rock bands that dont get a lotta love on here regardless, theyre one of my favorite bands, i like them better than pussy galore too, i love how they take a sort of blues-y r and b rock n roll rolling stones vibe and drenched it in shitloads of feedback and drones and all sorts of avant garde weirdness. even at their most unlistenable, they still sound like a rock band. i guess the best way to describe them would be to just say what they are: they sound as if a hopelessley addicted couple were shooting up and fucking their brains out and then withdrawling and repeating this behavior, while creating sounds.
anyways, twin infinitives is my favorite by them, and one of my favorites of all time. hand of glory is great too, and thank you is pretty good too (how did a major label release this?).

I only knew the two self titled and Veterans of whatever.
I'd really really like a best of, as all 3 mentioned albums had amazing things and weaknesses. Andersonville, Yo Se, Air... That'd be great. Their records can't be found in Paris anymore. |

twin infinitives is such a fucked up ablum, every track is like 15 or more minutes with multiple songs on it. totally no-fi, avant garde, and awesome.

it's the Royal Trux album I always find myself comparing to early Boredoms. But really their discographies so varied I would find it hard to find someone who could say they dislike all their LPs.

ehh, i dunno, i dont see anything in common between boredoms and royal trux besides noisyness, royal trux was much more blues rock oriented, while boredoms were much more spazzed out, fast, whatever.

I don't see it in any other albums, just Twin Infinitives sounds like what boredoms might have sounded like had they been american.

I of course adore Twin Infinitives, and always quote this as my fave... but if I were to pick another it would be Sweet Sixteen
for totally different reasons. And yes Neil Michael Hagerty has gone on to produce equally amazing material both solo and as the Howling Hex...

Well I think that Jennifer H is not without charm... but Neil is obviously the visionary.

I think RTX are amazing. Haven't got the most recent album but there's only one shit song on Transmaniacon. I see them as more experimental and important in this time than the millions of post no-wave, nnck style groups and neo-shoegaze bands. But saying that I can see why you'd hate them.... My favourite Royal Trux album at the moment is Thank You.
