besides the fact that yr watching a huge screen, the movies can really suck. It's expensive and there's usually teenage jerks on their cellphones. Plus (at least around here) you can't drink beer and watch a movie.

I just don't think there's any movies worth going and seeing anymore. So, sure, the movies suck.

All the newer movies that I'd like to see don't get shown here in the cinema. I just go when my friends want to... and it's more about being with my friends than actually enjoying the movie in that case.

I am going to see Crank 2 in theaters. I loved the first one in theaters. Watching it at home wasn't that great but in theaters.. whoo boy! And this looks EXACTLY the same, so..

Depends on the theater. There was this great place in San Francisco that served cocktails and other drinks at one of their screens. I had a martini when watching Casino Royale.
Most places are dirty and uncomfortable, though. |

the only movies I go to are ones that I'm super anticipating. Halloween, Hostel 2, Friday the 13th, tarantino, MBV, etc.

The audience can really make or break a theater experience. Unfortunately, they tend to perfect the latter. It's so hard to watch a flick when twenty little blue squares keep forcing me to take my eyes off the screen.
Plus, it's amazing to me just how many seem to not care about actually watching the movie, after they've spent so much money on tickets, popcorn, and drink. I go to the movies twice a year, at most, these days. There's just nothing really worth seeing anymore, especially when compared to the countless classics that I haven't discovered. Which are all readily available for viewing in the privacy of my own home. |

Last movie I went to the theater to see was Eastern Promises. Everything else I was mildly interested in, I watched online.

^yr like me. Yes.
The best movie going experience I had in Yeaaaars was Rob Zombie's Halloween. The theater was sold out, opening night. SO I figured "great, this is going to be distracting and frustrating" but the theater was super tight that night about letting in under-18's so it was like nothing but 20-30 yr olds who you could tell grew up on slashers. Everyone was totally into the film, no one being obnoxious. It was great.

When you have kids, you end up going more. Of course when I was 16-17 (my age, of course; I was never in the band), I went all of the time. Now all I go for are kids movies. That works for me, since they are the only movies worth watching most of the time.

Fast And Furious tops box office
Fast And Furious has raced to the top of the US box office chart. Vin Diesel's reunion with his cast mates from 2001's The Fast And The Furious was a smash debut with a 71 million-dollar weekend. The street-racing sequel co-stars Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. Reese Witherspoon's latest film Monsters Vs Aliens was second in the chart, while The Haunting In Connecticut was third, followed by Knowing, I Love You, Man, Adventureland, Duplicity, Race To Witch Mountain, 12 Rounds and Sunshine Cleaning. I hate going to the fucking movies,.
I hate that they NEVER clean the seats, I hate the shitty projections, one projectionist for 24 screens. I hate the overpriced soda and popcorn. I hate people who bring in kids under age 13 to R rated movies I hate people who talk the whole movie. (during watchmen, me and my g/f and my bro sat in front of a younger couple who talked the entirre time, until I could not take it any more and turned around and LOUDLY said "SHUT UP. YOU ARE NOT AT HOME, YOU KNOW." I hate the idiots who laugh at the poignant moments, ruining it.

i've been to all of two movies in seven years.. the theater is terrible, i enjoy to chill in my surround sound and blaze up a big spliff rather than get up in the crowd of consumption..

I hate it too.
The sound's too loud, people are annoying,.. so many drawbacks (and I want to smoke when I watch a movie). |

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Rob Instigator again.

^ Ditto! There is a theater by me though that screens $2 movies and sells $1 sodas and hot dogs. They get all of the mainstream shit about a month after its release date, worth the wait if you ask me.

Lucky for me, I have the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology's picturehouse right here in Liverpool (www.fact.co.uk) so I have a fantastic local cinema. I went to see Monsters vs. Aliens 3D there the other day- the clientele is just artfags drinking wine and being polite and quiet. I love it. They have reclining seats like aeroplanes too. Good times.
