i know some people are going to be pissed off about this..
the idea is to list the songs that would make the most accessible sonic youth compilation.. the goal is to achieve moderate mainstream success.. what would make your personal best of sonic youth? i would probably include........... dirty boots teenage riot schizophrenia kotton krown death valley '69 plastic sun bull in the heather sugar kane washing machine tom violence kool thing radical adults lick godhead style mariah carey brave men run actually, it might be a better idea to consider a double album.. comments? .

I am actually making my friend an SY comp, because he ignorantly said that there are only 5 good sonic youth songs, and everything else they do is noise.

i promised my workmate some sonic youth, so i think compilation is a good idea, but it's not going to be easy to choose. she never heard sy, so i must choose something "popy" i'd say, but still don't know what, yet.

best off... thing would kind of suck. than what i was reading in interview from wire, that there are plans to release SY's film music (two or three CD's worth of stuff), than also there's desire to release on SYR "a real serious concert series, of different live gigs from differen points in their career", but Lee saying that process of archiving the recordings, then listening to them all and selecting the best ones would constitute a "dauting task". that would be really good, if this would happened.
